I am fascinated by line. I am amazed how a simple mark can describe an image of great complexity with ease. I find drawing to be relaxing and therapeutic; as the ink flows onto the paper, so does the stress, stillness or excitement I am feeling in that moment. The emotion transforms the line as the ink transforms me. My favorite subjects to observe and illustrate are people and animals. They have an energy that inspires my marks to become exciting and kinetic. The beauty in the ever-changing line is the reason I draw.
